| A. | | Although PAD does not prevent stains, it does reduce the chance of staining. As in the case of any spill, immediate attention is necessary to avoid permanent discoloration. PAD repels moisture and protects from extreme temperature change. However, it does not seal the surface, therefore allowing moisture to escape from the concrete.

| A. | | First, when you paint a Kool Deck, the deck will become hot, slippery, and require repainting every couple of years. Painting a deck will cause the build up of hydrostatic pressure inside the concrete which very often leads to the paint peeling in freeze/thaw climates and ultimately damaging the base concrete. Stains are often used to darken a deck slightly, but the concrete density is rarely even throughout the surface and can end up blotchy. In order to paint a Kool Deck, it must be thoroughly cleaned and acid etched. Only then it is ready to follow the paint manufacturer's instructions. Once painting is started, it cannot be reversed unless all paint and Kool Deck is removed from concrete. Staining is an irreversable process.

| A. | | Visually Designer Colors and Keystone Kool Deck are similiar. However, Designer Colors are darker than Keystone Kool Deck, and will retain more surface heat. | A. | | As our premier product, Keystone Kool Deck is superior to Systex in most instances. First and foremost, Keystone Kool Deck has far cooler surface temperature than any other product. Kool Deck is easier to install on fresh poured concrete as it is a one day task. Systex requires the deck be of sufficient age (cured) to be installed. Kool Deck is also more skid resistant and significantly less expensive.

| A. | | Although Systex lacks the heat repelling properties of Kool Deck it also has advantages. Systex is a polymer topping, so it is more resistant to stains and cleaning it is easier. Also, Systex Color is an acrylic based coating, so recoloring it (the same or different color) at any time can be an easy home owner job. Systex does not have to be applied while the concrete is curing and this offers convenience and flexibility of application. Finally, Systex offers a greater ease of application for deck renovation jobs.
